From the gospel of saint
Luke 12:1-3,“Meanwhile, when a
crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one other,
Jesus begun to speak first to his disciples, saying ‘Be on your guard against
the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy…”
Evangelist Esther Tendo gave a message of encouragement to
the believers; she warned the believers not to be like the Pharisees and hypocrites
when meditating in God’s presence and relating with fellow humans because this
is what has greatly contributed to the defilement of our hearts, souls and
spirits. Do as you say the Evangelist cautioned. She confidently noted that this
is the message we need to hear as Christians, to prepare us for the due time of
our Lord and master Christ Jesus.
Blossoming with heavenly freshness, the Servant of God
Abraham Richard Bisaso took position at the pulpit thereafter, and unwrapped the
day’s message titled “You have a gift from God,” with reference
from the book of 2Timothy 1:3-8 “… I
thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as
night and day I constantly remember you in my prayer... For this reason I
remind you to fan into flame the gift of God…” Referencing the scripture, the prophet
of God asserted that the time is now to display that gift God has given us for
the world to see; our God can never be glorified when the gift He gave us is dormant.
He added that every one of us has a talent (gift) that God naturally endowed in
him or her.

Breathing more life to the awakening message, the servant of God noted that the world will never know what you have unless you display it! Citing the best example- our master and Lord Christ Jesus who displayed His Father’s will to the world and through Him many have known the one and only true God. As Christ displayed humility so should we His followers when displaying our talents; as Christians it is paramount to always acknowledge God in our talents; never boast of education, experience and potential as the world does.
The prophet reminded the listening congregation that we should never
fear to display the gift God has given us because it is only Him who has
leverage to prosper our talents. Summarising the message, the prophet of God told the
believers that we paid nothing for the various gifts that we have; therefore it
requires us to rely on God the sovereign giver alone. Remember, freely we were
given and freely we ought to display them.
To you brethren, God
is cautioning you to unveil the gift He gave you, we are all with different gifts but this is God’s will- for us to complement each other; your
neighbor needs your talent. Rise up, dust yourself up and display that talent
because God gave it to you to
harvest for the kingdom of Heaven; remember
no one lights up a candle and puts it under the bed rather he/she puts it up
for everyone to see(Luke 8:16).
Prayer: Christ Jesus help me to display my talent for the
glory of your kingdom! Amen
