Sunday the 11th December 2016 was a memorable baptism
day. Many thronged the Baptism ground awaiting their redemption from sin.
Amidst this expectant mood the servant of God led the Congregation to a message
of the day with reference from the book of Matthew 3:1-12 titled, “ARE YOU READY TO LET GO OF SIN?” The servant of God said that John the
Baptist came baptizing but his was prophesying the coming of Jesus Christ. Abraham
Richard said that baptism is the last event showing the coming of Jesus Christ
noting that on baptism as a believer expect to see the Lord. However, the Lord
cannot appear unless there is a man who has told the people to repent. John’s
message was telling people to repent to fulfill the prophecy of the prophet
Isaiah. The prophet said that baptism is
a message of repentance. It is dying and coming out of sin.
Going deeper in the teaching, the servant of God said that in
order to receive grace and mercy, you have to let go of sin. God is willing and it is His part to enter
your heart and change your destiny but it is your part to open up to Him. He
further noted that God will remain a lair to you unless you open up your heart
to Him. The servant of God Abraham Richard noted that the only way you can open
up to Jesus Christ is to let go of everything; that is your sin- lies, evil
mediation, selfish motives, abortion and self praise. He broke down sin as
anything that is against love. The prophet advised believers not to hesitate to
let go of sin for fear of the consequences. When you repent, close that door of
sin and leave it to God, burn the bridge and thus no turning back. He encouraged
the believers to live for Christ not men.
Abraham Richard the prophet concluded the teaching affirming
that there can never be salvation without repentance.
